Dr. Romilkumar Bharatbhai Shah is serving as the Dental Hospital Superintendent, Professor, PG and Ph.D. Guide at K. M. Shah Dental College & Hospital, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth, Vadodara. He is a Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics and has been associated with Sumandeep Vidyapeeth since 2007. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Gujarat University in 2004 and his Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Sumandeep Vidyapeeth IN 2010. He has also completed his Ph.D. in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Dharmsinh Desai University in 2026.
Dr. Shah has more than 16 years of teaching experience in dental education and has progressed through the academic positions of Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor, Reader/Associate Professor and Professor. He has been serving as Dental Hospital Superintendent since December 2022, overseeing the administrative and clinical functioning of the dental hospital and contributing to the delivery of efficient, patient-centred dental healthcare services.
Along with his academic and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Shah has held several important academic and administrative positions at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth and K. M. Shah Dental College & Hospital. He has served as President of the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Alumni Association, a member of the University AISHE-MHRD Central Committee, Dental Education Unit, Curriculum Committee, and Board of Studies. He is also associated with postgraduate education as a PG Guide in Orthodontics since 2016and has contributed to institutional activities including the Anti-Ragging Squad and various Academic Committees.
Dr. Shah has made significant contributions to dental research and academics, with 28 Publications, 12 Completed Research Projects, 10 Scientific Presentations, 08 Awards and Recognitions, 13 Copyrights and 07 Patent Design to his credit. His academic interests encompass orthodontics, dental education, clinical practice, research and innovation.
As Dental Hospital Superintendent, Dr. Shah is committed to strengthening the clinical services, academic environment and administrative systems of the dental hospital while promoting quality patient care, evidence-based dental practice, interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.
